Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Mechanical Technician – Millwright Co-op Student to join our maintenance team at Alpa Pre-Engineered Panels. This position provides hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment while supporting licensed maintenance personnel with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and continuous improvement projects.
The successful candidate will gain practical exposure to mechanical systems, production equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and general plant maintenance procedures.

- Wage: $20.85 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance staff with preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Help inspect equipment for wear, damage, and operational concerns.
- Assist with machine installations, modifications, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workspace.
- Follow all company safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Complete maintenance documentation and work orders as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and downtime reduction efforts.
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Technician – Millwright or related trades program.
- Basic understanding of industrial mechanical systems and hand tools.
- Strong willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- G Class Driver's License
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely and follow company procedures.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Previous manufacturing or maintenance experience is considered an asset.
